DIY Sign Painting Workshop Details & Policies
Do you want to learn how to paint a sign of your very own? Is that a year I hear? Then our DIY Sign Painting Workshop is for you!
During our workshops, participants will learn how to paint their very own wood sign from our master sign creator, the owner of Hadley and Hudson, LLC, Mrs. Allie Kadlecek!
Each participant will be able to paint the background color, adhere their stencil, paint their design, and distress their sign any way they choose. DIY Painting Workshop designs are pre-selected and customizable. In the future, participants will even be able to build their own signs!

WORKSHOPS
We host three types of workshops:
1. Public workshops - These workshops are hosted by Hadley and Hudson, LLC, at our design studios located in Aldie, Virginia. These workshops are open to the public and have a maximum participation of 8 guests. The sign design, colors, and sizing for public workshops are pre-selected by Hadley and Hudson, LLC.
2. Private workshops at Hadley and Hudson studios - Grab your girlfriends and head to our studios located in Aldie, Virginia. You must have a minimum participation of 6 guests in order to book this workshop. For a private hosting fee of $25 (this fee is a lump sum fee and is in addition to each individual sign fee), you get to choose the sign design, colors, and sizing. Please note that sizing may be limited based on space.
3. Private workshops at your private residence - Hadley and Hudson, LLC will travel to YOU! We travel up to 20 miles outside of the 20105 zip code. You must have a minimum participation of 6 guests in order to book this workshop. For a private hosting fee of $50 (this fee is a lump sum fee and is in addition to each individual sign fee), you get to choose the sign design, colors, and sizing. Please note that sizing may be limited based on space.
SIGN PRICING
DIY Sign Painting Workshops vary in price from $35 to $80 per sign. Please refer to our workshops section above for hosting fee and sign design information.
P O L I C I E S
REGISTRATION
When booking a workshop through our online registration form, design selection and customization information is required. Registrants will be required to double check all spelling, dates, and any other information required to ensure that the project stencil and materials will be ready for the registrant at the start of the workshop. Misspellings and incorrect information are the sole responsibility of the participant and not Hadley and Hudson, LLC.
CANCELLATION POLICY
Registration fees are non-refundable. Workshop cancellations must be made at least 72-hours in advance in order to receive a workshop credit for a future workshop. If cancellation is made in under 48-24 hours before the workshop, half of the registration fee will be applied as a credit to a future workshop. If you must cancel day-of, we recommend trying to find someone to fill your spot, otherwise, the entire registration fee will be lost and not applied to a future workshop.
AGE RESTRICTION
Children under the age of 16 are not permitted to attend our regular DIY Sign Painting Workshops. We will offer private DIY Sign Painting Workshops for children under the age of 16 in the near future. Please check back for updates.
ALCOHOL POLICY
Participants that are 21 and older are permitted to bring their own beverage to Hadley and Hudson, LLC's workshops. Hadley and Hudson, LLC, is not responsible for any injury, loss, or damage that may arise from the consumption of alcohol during a DIY Sign Painting Workshop.
MATERIALS
Each and every one of our projects is created with wood. Each and every piece of wood is unique and contains textures, grains, color variations, cracks, knots, aging, stain, chips, and other blemishes. No two pieces are alike! We recommend sealing any piece of wood with a sealer or polyurethane that participants can purchase at their leisure at a home improvement store.
We use high quality Behr latex paint. Please be advised that this paint is permanent and will not wash out of clothing. Hadley and Hudson, LLC, is not responsible for paint getting on clothing or other belongings of participants.
SAFETY WAIVER
I understand that I will use and/or be exposed to unfinished wood, wood screws, sand paper, contact paper, paint, and oil based stains during Hadley and Hudson, LLC DIY Sign Painting Workshops. I agree to be responsible for any damage to Hadley and Hudson, LLC tools, equipment or facilities, or the private facility where the workshop is taking place, to the extent and in the percentage I cause such damages.
I recognize there may be certain inherent risks in participating in Hadley and Hudson, LLC DIY Sign Painting Workshops. I agree to take precautions and observe all Hadley and Hudson, LLC policies, recommendations, directions, rules and warnings which may be provided orally or in writing. I assume full responsibility for personal injury to myself. I also assume full responsibility for any paint, stain, food and/or beverage that may spill or cause damage to my belongings or myself or the facility where the workshop is taking place. I understand that Hadley and Hudson, LLC, is not responsible for any of these items.
I further agree to release and discharge Hadley and Hudson, LLC, for any injury, loss, or damage that may arise out of my participation in Hadley and Hudson, LLC DIY Sign Painting Workshops or my presence in Hadley and Hudson, LLC facilities or a private facility where the workshop is taking place, whether it was caused by me, Hadley and Hudson, LLC, or any third party.
I agree to indemnify and defend Hadley and Hudson, LLC, against all claims, causes of action, damages, judgment costs or expenses including reasonable attorneys fees and other litigation costs which may in any way arise from my participation in Hadley and Hudson, LLC DIY Sign Painting Workshops or my presence in Hadley and Hudson, LLC facilities or the private facility where the workshop is taking place.
I HAVE READ HADLEY AND HUDSON, LLC POLICIES AND THIS SAFETY WAIVER AND UNDERSTAND THEM. I FURTHER UNDERSTAND THAT BY SIGNING THIS DOCUMENT. I VOLUNTARILY SURRENDER CERTAIN LEGAL RIGHTS THAT I MIGHT OTHERWISE HAVE.
